Times might be tough, yet couldn’t quite understand New Zealand’s Ready to Run sale Lot 31 to the hammer $200k.
Out of 300 lots - we had knocked those out to 5 alone.
Lot 31 was one of those five. Lot 31 | Ready to Run Sale | New Zealand Bloodstock | Thoroughbred Auction House (nzb.co.nz)
With or without pedigree analysis, or to study sale-catalogue, a clear advertisement to families Black Caviar and integrity of family, as producer.
Whilst many may fudge… tell the horse its pedigree, plighting horses that mostly don’t meet their pedigree - there seems enough evidence, the $200k Toronado (IRE) filly might just show something more average.
If not, the pending broodmare status exceptional.
I might comment (if anything) phenotype looking a little young but its Time….. she is a smart, light walker, nice clean carriage, strong head n’ alert ears, open nostrils, finds a lovely Type together.
View:
Big plus, is the filly’s dam Wujimu. She, a Fastnet Rock daughter.
Add, 4dx4d Royal Academy from the dominant female producer Crimson Saint whose daughter by Secretariat, produced Storm Cat (USA). As perfect maternal: are two Vain daughter’s 5x5 Bespoken and Song of Norway.
Was it the High Chaparral sire Toronado (IRE) what did not quite convince more buyers?
Toronado 4 yo gelding Masked Crusader, an Australian G1 performer @ 1200m has 4th dam Vain. + 5sx4d Kris.
On point, the promising filly’s pedigree yields superior traits - Honeyway through Fastnet Rock & Kris.
@ filly’s distaff further Rockefella + via, Kris thru sire Sharpen Up.
She undoubtedly has the master’s touch genotype. Extraordinary.
